From this year alone, I would point to the direct effect of former walk-ons Ron Kellogg, who steped up after Martinez's injury to split time as our #1 QB, and Sam Burtch, who became a major receiving target after injuries to Turner and Bell and underwelming performances some of our other receivers mid-season.Sooner or later the talent level of the walk-on classes is going to positively affect team performance either directly (guys playing in games) or indirectly (talented scout players).
Yup, the significant on field contributions and depth provided by walk-ons has been obvious. It's less obvious how the spirit of the local kids influences the attitudes and work ethic of the out of state kids, but judging by the high overall effort and character we see from this team, you'd have to think it's taking effect. It already has.
