LOMS and Dewiz status spat

Feels like the right decision.

IMO, the next for either of them should be long term, particularly if it's politically themed. These two were the catalyst for implementing the status update guidelines this summer. Forgive my language, but it's high time they cut the s#!t.

You’re missing the point of this whole conversation. My whole point is crap that I’ve been suspended for are not being enforced for other posters who have said much worse. I’ve taken my punishments in the past and I’m pointing out the lack of leadership of this board to follow suit in the same rules that were enforced on me onto others that broke the same rules. And no I don’t see anything I’ve done that has ruffled anyone and if I had that’s their own fault.

I said you were trolling.  You said "My post wasn’t a troll post. That’s the problem with this board if someone doesn’t like something someone said they’re deemed a troll."  There aren't many other ways to interpret that.
Like I said, you know what would happen to you if you did something and claim you're being treated differently.  That is playing the victim card.  If you think you're on your final leg, you should be doing more to avoid conflict instead of instigate or escalate it. 

Yes, you're excuse is "they did it first."  Here's is what you said to refresh your memory: "I agree I should’ve have put the violin gif but if someone is going to blatantly mock me, I’m gonna push back without name calling hence the gif."

I think you're saying the right things, Mav. He's a difficult person to show reason.

I think it's only a matter of time before Dewiz earns himself either a long suspension or ban. If anybody has built up enough evidence to warrant it... it's Dewiz.

I agree with the actions you guys have taken here. It's a tough balance. I also think that Dewiz isn't entirely wrong. LL has been skirting the line by calling Dewiz (and others) those things. Sometimes (not always) it's an easy fallback counter-argument that's used all to often just to get a rise out of someone.

Disagree with me? We'll that's because you're a libtard, cuck, conservative, commie, nazi,  racist, mysogynist, baby killer, etc...

We have rules, and just because someone may be a piece of s#!t, doesn't mean we allow you to call them a piece of s#!t on this board.

There's very little real discussion in politics today, because people don't actually understand nuance and empathy. It's less about doing what's best, and more about being right. So we end up with the name-calling race to the bottom, and nothing changes.

On thing he doesn't understand, his definition of trolling doesn't overrule our decision of trolling. If I think you're trolling the board rules gives me the power to enforce that. Period...........what an ignorant individual.

Yeah, I was going to respond with something to the effect of "only one of our opinions on that matters" but I decided to let it pass.

He wouldn't ever say if it's mostly happening in P&R or not - though I guess he claims he doesn't go in there much.  I definitely don't remember seeing it other places but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure he hasn't realized that I suspended Landlord for a week - he just keeps on with his narrative.

He used to be a frequent poster in P&R until he realized his opinions and viewpoints were not widely shared. There is a powerful minority of regular posters there - some of them are quite good at listening to what other people have to say and some of them are not. Once he realized he didn't have much support in there he stopped posting. He then shifted his strategy to inundating status updates with political opinions but often in a way he knew would 'trigger' people who disagreed with him.

To my memory, Landlord did suggest and or call him a racist and misogynist. I don't recall the context or the thread but I do remember something like this happening. While the remarks were unwarranted, some of Dewiz' behavior and language (when it comes to politics) can be interpreted as racist and misogynistic. Doesn't mean somebody needs to call him that, though.
