A recruiting dead period begins on Monday, much to the relief of Josh Williams. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end from Denton (Texas) Ryan has hosted countless in-home visits in recent weeks and he just returned from his fifth and final official visit.

Originally committed to Nebraska, Williams began scheduling other official visits when it became evident that Bill Callahan was going to be fired as the Huskers' coach. He visited Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri and most recently Colorado.

"It went really well," Williams said of his trip to Boulder, which he just returned home from. "I really enjoyed the trip, had lots of fun. It was really better than I expected."

Redshirt freshman Marquez Herrod served as his player host and he also spent a lot of time with linebacker Marcus Burton.

"I just really felt it was a good atmosphere out at Colorado," Williams expressed. "I felt real good about the coaches, got a good impression of those guys. And I got a good impression of the players, they seem like a really tight knit group of kids. The trip in general was just great."

How does Williams' official visit to Colorado compare with his previous trips? "It is right up there with the best of them," he said. "It was a great trip for me. I was really impressed."

Former Nebraska commitments Bryce Givens and Doug Rippy also visited Colorado officially this weekend. Williams admitted that he discussed going to the same college with them. "I don't know," he said with a laugh. "We'll just have to wait and see what happens."

Williams said he is not sure when he will make a final decision. But did say he has narrowed his choices down to Colorado, Missouri and Kansas.

Williams is ranked by Rivals.com as the 14th best weakside defensive end prospect and the 63rd best overall recruit from the Lone Star State this recruiting cycle. He was a unanimous first-team all-district selection this season as a senior after recording 75 tackles, 25 for a loss and 12 sacks.

"They like the fact that I am physical and I get after the quarterback," Williams replied when asked what college coaches have said they like about his game. "They said they need that at CU, they have a lack of pass rushing defensive ends that really get after it. So I felt real good about that."

I raised his warning to 50%,,,he should have fun reading the same message 4 times from me.

I take this paid content thing seriously, as well as all of you. Not that any of you have shown differently
