did not want to start a new thread and this is a favor, i guess. would it be possible to have a dialogue box ask 'are you sure?' after you hit the 'mark forum as read?', box. twice i have accidentally marked forums as read when i did not intend to. just an idea.

 
This is good to have in a new thread. Don't worry about thread quantity - different topics, different threads keeps it all organized.

I think this is a reasonable suggestion and I'll look into seeing if it's possible. I don't like the idea of dialog boxes though - perhaps making it double click instead of single click?

The one thing is it transforms a normal link into a javascript button. That's not too bad for this I guess. As long as it works on mobile as well.

Are people OK / prefer going to double-click on these mark as read buttons?

 
I'd prefer the dialogue box over the double click, personally, but if the double click is easier to implement then that sounds good to me.
