Received a PM from Maxconvert:

Hi there AR, wanted to tell you that a mod named KnappIc last year put me on restricted posting...I can't post without "approval"...a year ago for posting what he thought were too many anti-Pelini threads. It's been a year, and yet I'm still on this restricted status. I'm assuming this is an oversight? Can you fix this? Thanks
Lance, any thoughts? Want to leave it or keep it on? Kind of an amazing coincidence he popped up a year later, just as the Huskers have a game everyone is bitching about...

It's been a year, so recollection is a little fuzzy, but basically last year he created thread after thread after thread griping about every part of the team he could think of. Any time a thought popped into his head he posted a new thread about it. I told him to stop, to organize his thoughts and to put it all in one thread but he didn't stop. Got several complaints about it from other members in my PM box.

I think I warned him about it more than once. Since he wouldn't stop, I put him on Mod Preview. Everything he posted for maybe a week after that was the same thing, so they weren't approved. Then he went away.

Came back last night, tried to post again, but since he was on "indefinite" his posts got hung up again.

He got tired of that and created a new account, @Ludicrinous, to circumvent this. I saw this and banned the account. Sent Maxconvert a PM explaining why, and this was our conversation:

why still restricted threads?

Howdy, as you may recall I you put my on restricted thread posting like a year ago for posting "too many threads", most of them critical of Pelini. I haven't posted anything in that entire time, and the ones I've tried to post you or the other mods didn't take the time to approve. It's been a year--why am I still on this restricted posting?
Because we hadn't seen anything out of you that showed you had changed. And now that you've created a second account to circumvent this, that confirms it.

The Rules

#10 - No Circumventing a Ban

If you are banned, there is a reason. If you want to inquire as to why you were banned, please send an “unban request”. Creating another username to circumvent the ban or to ask about a ban will cause your 'alternate' name to be permanently banned and your 'main' name's ban time to be doubled.
Nice. Can't say I had memorized "the rules" prior to posting about recreational college football. So I would request that "the ban" be lifted, especially since I haven't been told of anything like the "we haven't been shown anything otherwise" stuff you're talking about.
Why would I do that? What evidence do I have that you've changed? You spammed this board despite being told to stop, then you were put on preview and you stopped posting. When you came back and decided you wanted to post again, you created a new account in violation of a major rule - something we routinely ban people for.

And now you're asking to be allowed to post freely again? No. No way.
Spammed this board? What are you referring to? Basically you banned me a year ago, and I stopped posting as a result because I knew my posts weren't going to be posted. I figured that the "ban" would be lifted by now, and when I asked about it nobody answered me. So that's why I created an account.

Don't appreciate the treatment to be honest--I have no interest in spamming, and my only new post under the other account was a discussion thread, not "mutliple new threads" which is what you were unhappy about last time.

This was my latest reply to him, before I saw this thread:

So far the only person who knows you created a second account is me. I haven't brought this up to the other Mods for discussion yet.

I'll let that slide - even though it's a perma-ban for doing that - and take off your posting restrictions. You can post for now, but any repeat of last year and you're going to have to find another board to talk Husker Football on.

Fair?

So.... I was trying to be fair to him and to the board. I wasn't going to tell anyone that he created a second account, but there you go.
