Mod Reporting of a Post

I've noticed a couple of posters who like to bait the mods from time to time. Sometimes it's just rudewhich I guess is tolerable. But other times it rises to the level of trolling. There are times when, if this behavior was directed towards another poster, I would take action (e.g., move the post to the Offending Post thread, give a warning, etc.). The problem is, if you're like me, you're reluctant to take measures against a poster when you are the one who is victim to the infraction.

There have been a couple of times when I've just let this sort of thing slide. But after giving it some thought, here's what I'm planning to do if that happens again: I'm going to use the report function to report the post—just as any rank and file member would do. That way, whatever mod happens to handle the reported post will hopefully view it with impartial eyes. Don't get me wrong—I would truly enjoy lowering the boom on some douchbag who is giving me grief. It's just that I might not exercise the best judgment in an unbiased manner when I'm seeing red. (But if it's a clearcut infraction, IMO, I will lower the boom without wasting anyone else's time.)

This isn't something that happens very often. I just wanted to let you folks know what I'm up to if I ever happen to report a post. That is all.

I think that's smart, often times if I've had a personal issue with a member, LOMS would be an example, I'll refrain from trying to handle stuff with him because he knows what I think of him. It's better to do it that way if you can.
