What's up dudes.

So if I'm breaking any of the "don't talk about Jerry Sandusky" rules from last week by posting this, please delete. Just needed to vent this.

As I got off the phone with my brother for our weekly Saturday night Husker recap phone call, I was extremely pissed off. Did any of the rest of you find it messed up that we had to watch Michael Jackson commercials during that game? The same Michael Jackson that was brought to court with counts of conspiring to commit extortion, child abduction, and child molestation.

I realize he was "found" not guilty. But seriously...when a Southern California district attorney brings the biggest pop star in history under counts of child molestation...you know there's at least partial truth to it.

So all of that..."celebrating Michael's life" bull crap...coupled with the still-fresh Sandusky stuff....it was kind of frustrating.

I realize that we've all done wrong. None of us are blameless. Jackson is hugely admired by millions. But still.

Didn't think about that when I saw it but being devil's advocate there are two things that come to mind.

1. Innocent until proven guilty and like you said he was found not guilty

2. Michael had a messed up life on many levels. I think he would have been a prime psychological case study. Basically never had a childhood, was by accounts abused emotionally and physically by his father and siblings, and when he was "older" he seemed liked he was a child trapped in a man's body. The guy like to climb trees and sit in them like a little kid.

2. b) There is Michael the person and then there is Michael the entertainer. It's what we do with most celebrities right or wrong.
