Need your help...Start thinking about....

As we run through our bills, it looks like we should have a few hundred dollars left over... not sure of the exact amount yet as we are still awaiting payment for November and December for huskernation.com and the other sites.

My question to you is, how should we use this money. Here are some of my ideas

  • hire someone to make you tube videos with Huskerboard logo on it
  • divide the money out amongst all mods and buy huskergear

  • buy husker tickets and raffle them off during the season
  • advertise on some major websites
  • billboard near stadium...no idea how much that costs
  • Huskerboard retreat to Guam


Any ideas?

The offseason seems like it might not be the best time to capitalize on a billboard. Usually. Pretty drama filled right now, but will it keep up? Might be more effective in the summer months just before the season...but, who knows? I do like that idea a bit more than internet ads. What sites would we advertise on, just to have a more specific understanding there? Ticket raffle might have 'major hit' potential. Send some lucky board members to a game and maybe hand them a Huskerboard shirt along with it that they have to wear :P

Of course, I'm down with Guam too.

I really like the ticket raffle idea. That's something that will generate a lot of buzz - I could see a real influx of members. And it's a helluva award for members.

I like the idea of giving back to our members. Frank is right, tix would be badass.

How would it work though, just give them to a random member? What if our members could purchase a raffle ticket for, say $5, and then they were entered in the raffle? That way we could give away the tickets to a member, as well as generate more revenue for the board to use elsewhere.

 
I would not do internet advertising. Way too many people use adblock these days, and ad revenue suffers. I adblock every single site I go to, except HuskerBoard. I hate ads. I bite the bullet for you guys, but nobody else.

The ticket raffle is a great idea.

How expensive would it be to print up a hundred HuskerBoard T-shirts and give them away at a game? That may be a better way of advertising.

 
I'm willing to donate for the cause and maybe a little swag :D

I means HB shirts just don't grow on trees or hatch from seedlings :)

 
I'm liking the raffle idea. I think we can do either $1 raffle tickets (one dollar=one chance) and/or for every $25 dollars someone spends on Huskernation.com they get one chance and /or for every 1,000 posts you get one chance.
