jsneb83 has the "b!^@h" motivational poster of Suh and Gabbert in his/her sig. I'll be sending a PM and taking it down.
Inappropriate in that instance but in general conversation without intent of name calling it has been allowed. We've edited people's status for using that word. I think the reference you pointed it out is slightly different. The signature photo was quite large and having the word b!^@h show up over and over in 32pt font as you are scrolling through threads isn't appropriate IMO.
Can barely see it. Unless we get a complaint IMO its fine.is it ok that I just went ahead and removed it for them?
That was my thoughts OKC, been allowed many times but not in the same way.
Also noticed HuskerMack has "I'm Rick James b!^@h!" in his sig also. What do you guys think? http://www.huskerboa...464-huskermack/
While I agree in general, what we've done at times is edit the sig, notify the user we have and why, and that seems to work well. I think the problem would be if that's abused or if it was done without notification - something I'm not worried about with anyone of us.I've removed a couple of things on my own, but in general I don't like to do that. It feels invasive to go into someone's Status and change the wording.
On another board there's a Mod who delights in changing posts of the members. There's no "Edited by" line on the post when he does it, and he's used it to make some people, including me, look pretty foolish. It's pretty crummy, and even though I don't screw with people here, I can see how they might feel to discover someone came in and messed with their stuff. I always put my name on it if I change something, but in general I prefer to have them do it.
Yeah BRI I saw that they still hadn't taken it down so I removed it. Done!I had originally just sent them a PM asking them to censor the word, but I never received a PM back from them. It appears it was taken care of so no worries.
