New TV Tips

Hey guys,

So I'm looking at buying a new big tv for my basement soon.

Requirements:

65" +

Smart

I do play some PlayStation and watch sports obviously.

What do you recommend? I've had my eye on the Samsung 4K Curve, which is on sale for a grand right now.

I have the 65' samsung smart non curve and I love it. I didn't know how the curve would work sitting around the tv at different angles. Thats why I went with non curve.

4K isn't a gimmick, but it isn't a dealbreaker by any means at this point. There's definitely a big visual difference, but there is very little in terms of 4k content to take advantage unless you have one of the new PS4 or XB1 models. Broadcast cable/satellite is still in 720p/1080i for goodness sakes.

As stated above, 4K isn't a gimmick, but there are some competing standards regarding HDR (High Dynamic Resolution) that need to be sorted out. It appears the lower-tier version of it is winning out since both consoles support it instead of the higher-tier (and more processor-intensive) Dolby version of HDR.

But if you can hold out, wait until the Super Bowl and March Madness for getting a TV--prices are better then than on Black Friday, plus you have the luxury of seeing what shows up at the CES show in January that will be hitting the shelves later this year.

lol Hang the f#*k on.

You realize you just told me to not buy a tv for Black Friday, literally 4 days after BF lol.

I bought a tv on Wednesday.
