I'm sure there are things they can do to manipulate the numbers, but Brady had a cap hit of ~10 million last year and has a cap hit this year, retirement or no. Rodgers has a 46 million dollar cap hit, although I think about 20 of that would stay with the Packers. But either way, they'd have to cut costs somewhere to make that work. Brady was willing to be the player they cut costs on, I'm not sure Rodgers is the same way.
