Not one B1G in Top 25 (BCS)

BCS is a joke. Not one B1G team in the top 10. Completely biased if you ask me. Michigan I expected to be in the top 25 for the fact they have only lost 2 games, which are both in the top 5 ranking. Texas, getting DESTROYED by OU and getting beat by WV still there. Look familiar? You can't honestly tell me Michigan doesn't belong in the top 25.

1. Alabama

2. Florida

3. Oregon

4. Kansas State

5. Notre Dame

6. LSU

7. South Carolina

8. Oregon State

9. Oklahoma

10. USC

11. Georgia

12. Mississippi State

13. West Virginia

14. Florida State

15. Rutgers

16. Louisville

17. Texas Tech

18. Texas A&M

19. Clemson

20. Stanford

21. Cincinnati

22. Boise State

23. TCU

24. Iowa State

25. Texas

Texas. 4-2. Loss to #13 WV & #9 OU

Michigan- 4-2 Loss to #1 AL & #5 ND

Iowa State- 4-2 Loss to #4 KSU & #17 Texas Tech

Standford- 4-2 Loss to #NR Washington & #5 ND

The BCS standings are nothing more than a weighted average of two crappy human polls (Harris and Coaches) and 6 computer ratings stripped of their value by forcing them not to consider score differential.

It seems to me about 50% of college football fans are completely unaware of what the BCS standings are. They think it is some separate group of crazy old men that go into a room and decide on 25 teams.

Because Big Ten teams are not ranked? Ohio State would be if not for probation. Do any of the rest deserve to be?

Michigan probably does deserve to be in the bottom five, but it's still pretty early. It would be very sad for the Big 10 to become like the Big East this year with the BCS bowl contender from the BIG not even being in the top 25 in the BCS at the end.

Yes Michigan is the only B1G team right now who deserves to crack that top 25. Really, ISU, UT and Standford have lost worse games, and the only decent game ISU won was TCU, who didn't even have their starting QB because of his stupidity.

Standford beat a VERY over rated USC team.

Texas has beat who credible? Okie State? The two big games they were "suppose" to win, they lost, and they only won Okie State by 5 points.

We all know BCS favorites, but damn, its VERY one sided lol

The problem with criticizing the BCS in week 7 is that the system is not set up to rank the top teams in week 7; the BCS is designed to rank the top teams after the regular season/championship games. Without being able to rank teams in the full context of strength of schedule while disproportionately hurting teams that have played top competition at the beginning (Michigan) while rewarding teams who have won all of the crap games they've played thus far, (Miss. State for example) the rankings are flawed. Check back in 6 or 7 weeks when they system is able to more accurately predict high-performing teams.

Can't wait...

I realize some will say football is cyclical and the B1G will be relevant again and it may be (only in the form of the singular Urban Meyer led Buckeyes).

But, the B1G, outside OSU, has not been competitive for a national title for a long, long time (ironically, about the same time Nebraska was relevant).

To me there is a downward trend, not a cycle repeating.

Here's hoping climate change forces all those sun belters back to the rust belt and they bring some FB talent with them, haha.

Thats what happens when 2 of the top 3 teams are banned from the post season. The third lost badly to AL and lost to ND. Maybe Mich deserves a 20-25, but in all seriousness, everyone in this league except OSU sucks right now. The BCS isnt wrong, its pretty accurate on how teams are playing. Talk all you want about talent, as we all know talent doesnt win football games (see the last 6 losses).

Michigan being out does surprise me, and Texas being in makes ZERO sense. Who, of any strength, have they played? Ole Miss? OSU? (who they beat by a VERY questionable no-call on a fumble?) Are the computers including a "because they're Texas" bonus point feature?
