@ZRodis publicly calling for @Notre Dame Joe to be banned/warned/reprimanded for this post. ZRod think he's supporting the violence, spreading lies and insurrection we saw in D.C. today and believes it's a violation of board rules.

I do think his post seems oddly... perhaps complicit?... with what happened in DC. Maybe flippant is a better word. Sort of like Trump's comments about these riots 'being what we get' when an election is stolen. NDJ makes it seem like what happened today is about 'speech' and nothing more.

Anyways, wanted to throw it out there for discussion. I did think about issuing a warning for this simply because I don't think NDJ is interested in having an honest conversation about it at all. There's no way to justify what we saw happen today, regardless of your political affiliations.

I think Trump should be charged with sedition based on his speech and tweets for what happened today. The law supports it.

Don't think so, but I'd agree, there are issues on BOTH sides.

Cept one side seems to have supported a blubbering, idiotic child the last 3 years and gave him an automatic rifle and a bandoleer belt of ammo.

It's not rocket science. 

The problem with America is the complete lunacy of the right wing side of our political system. Elected leaders have grifted you into supporting them, you've been hoodwinked, although it wasn't exactly difficult to see coming. 

America is fortunate that the exploitation of the right was done by somebody with the mental and emotional intelligence of a teenager. However, the the right wing of this country is still there, waiting to be exploited by somebody more capable than Trump.

That's the kind of Manichaean political view that ensures there will be no change.

The reply to Moiraine is snarky but the first part seems like a valid question.

The reply to Omaha-Husker I suppose could be seen as flippant but I don't see trolly.

The reply to axelhortdog is qutoing Nancy Pelosi's ho-hum response to other riots which seems on-topic.

Dr. Strangelove's post is at least as tinfoil-hatted as anything I've seen from NDJ.

That's the kind of blunt play_by_the_rules authoritarianism that gets your statue toppled by peaceful protestors.

This also risk more unrest from the insurrectionist. This is what happens when you let a cancer fester.

If I had any faith in justice being served, I'd say go ahead and draw them out.  A little unrest to uncover traitors might be the enema America needs.

These people need to explain something:  are they knowingly allowing what they believe to be a rigged election to go unchecked? Or are they admitting that they were part of the reason that today happened?

Their constituents deserve to know the answer.

I wouldn't.  Rioters get my empathy but no sympathy from me.  If you storm a public building or try to seize territory, you get what's coming to you.  I don't care whether it's a right wing extremist attacking Washington or a Left wing one taking over Seattle.  I bet Trump doesn't either.

NDJ's direct reply was to teachercd - who never takes anything seriously - but I don't really follow what he's getting at there.

The two "excuse me" posts aren't exactly conversational but I don't see how that is proving that he's a troll.

Again, Moiraine's post is a trolly as anything I've seen from NDJ.  As far as I can tell Moiranie never responded to his question.  But apparently it's only NDJ that isn't here for discussion.

since you and Trump are the arbiters of truth...maybe you could detail for us with evidence, not hearsay, about all the election fraud?

This guy.  He's discovered that free speech is a threat to community unity. Allow the white nose and you risk derailing the whole train.

I said "perceived" in my post   You know like Hillary and Stacey Abrams all perceived they had been screwed over in an election.  Now you can argue who's blowing smoke.  The absolute worst thing you can do to reinforce the perception is criminalize the utterance.

ZRod makes the oft-repeated claim.  Someone is going to have to show me where all these supposed offense are.  Because that is everything he's posted in the thread about the riots.  If I'm actually missing it I'd be happy for someone to point it out to me.  But I don't see it.

I didn't research the post to which commando refers but it would not surprise me at all if people are reading way more into his posts than what is actually there.  That seems like basically a given at this point.

The last one is about as close as it comes.  But it's nothing more than a dissenting view point.  It's not trolling anyone on the board.  It's not attacking anyone.  What is the violation?

I don't know what's more sad.  That the supposedly "tolerant" are so blinded by their own view points that they think no one could possibly be so dumb as to disagree with them or that they don't even realize it.

This didn't mean what I thought it did, so for clarity, it doesn't appear BRB was trying to ask why Archy hated America. He tagged Archy and asked Archy why the rioters in DC hated America.

I issued NDJ a verbal warning in a thread today for calling knapplc 'poindexter' and making an unintelligent comment suggesting that a criminal trial and an impeachment trial are the same thing (literally, they are not). The latter comment looked like nothing more than an attempt to troll or get a rise out of people.

The name calling is obviously a no go either, but it was somewhat mild so I just let it be with a verbal warning for now, but let me know if we think it's all worth a full warning. I went ahead and moved his post to the Offending Posts thread.
