The "Paint the Nation Red" tour of Nebraska's football coaches — a three-week sprint to Signing Day — started Thursday with offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh and special teams coordinator Bruce Read making a trip to Grant High School in Sacramento, California, to see Paulo, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound three-star tackle at one of the state's top football programs.

Paulo has an impressive offer list — Oregon, USC, UCLA and Utah are among them — and plans to make an official visit to Nebraska on Jan. 30, according to Grant coach Mike Alberghini. Paulo will visit Utah on Jan. 16 and Oregon on Jan. 23.

"He's an outstanding human being," Alberghini said of Paulo, who rarely does interviews. "All the accolades you'd want to get, he's got in the last two years."

Grant — which finished 14-1 this season — "runs the ball a lot," Alberghini said, so run blocking is Paulo's calling card.

Word is Washington State is his leader. I believe he has an older brother on the team. UCLA and Oregon are also at the top of his list.

Big boy. cant get a great read from a short video but seems to be a very good run blocker/impact blocker. Gets out of his stance and can get to the next level quickly.

Pass blocking could be a question, but wasnt enough video to know how he deals with quickness around the corner.

Paulo is making the visit to NU because of new coach Mike Riley and Cavanaugh, Alberghini said. The Beavers had offered and pursued Paulo for an official visit of their own; now, he'll take it to Lincoln just before Signing Day.

"Mike Riley is just a great person to know," Alberghini said.
That's Paulo's coach.

Let's pull this one in, Nebraska!
QUICK REINFORCE THE TOILETS!
