Paterno vs. Osborne - The Morality Test

This situation with Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno’s failure to act is very similar to Tom Osborne’s handling of the Kathy Redmond allegations brought against Christian Peter in 1993.

Redmond allegedly was raped by Christian Peter in 1991. She didn’t report the incidents for two years until she met with Tom Osborne in 1993. According to the book, Sexual Crime: A Reference Handbook by Caryn E. Neumann, Osborne was “unresponsive.” Peter went on be convicted of assaulting other women and received 18 months of probation. In 1995, Redmond filed a federal Title IX sex discrimination lawsuit against the University of Nebraska.

Osborne FAILED to take action EXACTLY as Paterno FAILED to take action.

The only difference between Jerry Sandusky and Christian Peter is the age and sex of the victims.

It’s funny that an administration failing to act, including a revered head coach, being so close to this fan base, is not even referenced in the media locally, especially in Omaha.

what?

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but your just compared:

a) That a woman Osborn had never met, made an allegation that a player had assaulted her several years previous.

and

b) That Paterno ignored a staff member who approached him with a first hand witnessing of a sexual assault on a minor on school property.

This is what your comparing?

It's obvious that you posted this just to get a rise out of the board, I'll warn you to knock it off, contribute if you want to, but don't post things just to get a rise out of people.
