About what I expected, I'm assuming we will be undefeated by the time Wisconsin coems to Lincoln. Which means we may be close to a top 10 ranking.

I'm certainly no Missouri fan but I'm surprised at how little respect they are getting in the polls. They're only 3 point underdogs against Georgia this weekend yet ranked at about #35. That said, I'm not sure I'd bump any of the current top 25 out to make room for them. Looks about right to me.

It's because Georgia is horribly over ranked. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mizzou win this weekend, but it's not because I expect Mizzou to be very good. I almost feel bad for Mizzou and A&M. I'm not even sure OU would do much damage in the SEC this year.

Polls at this point are worthless.

I really wish they would take this more seriously and not take any form of poll until the first of October when we have some sense of who is decent.

That's about right where I thought we were going to be. We keep decimating opponents in the non-con like we did Southern Miss, we should be in or near the top ten.

If we lay the wood to UCLA this weekend, we should crack into the top 15 or so. With SEC conference play starting, there's no way they cling to five teams in the top 10. If we take care of business, we should crack into the top 10 by midseason.

I think actually that you might be taking it too seriously. It's not too dissimilar to the betting odds discussion in the other thread. The preseason poll is an educated guess, and then it settles out from there. It's pretty straightforward. And, some people enjoy discussing it. ;)
