QB Jackson Burkhalter (PWO)

Typically PWO’s don’t get their own thread- but then again typically PWO’s don’t hear directly from Scott Frost to get their offer. This one seemingly is of a little more intrigue than normal. Obviously brothers with one of our primary targets at OLB Christian Burkhalter. He was getting a ton of attention as a Junior in HS until suffering a pretty bad knee injury. Ole Miss has offered him a legit scholarship.

Frost personally reached out to the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Burkhalter, from Spanish Fort, Alabama, who received his first Power Five offer from Mississippi last week.
Burkhalter was an ESPN top-300 player as a junior and drew interest from programs like Georgia before a midseason ACL tear. He missed most of the camp circuit the next summer as schools filled their needs elsewhere. Still recovering as a senior last fall, he attracted offers from UAB, Murray State, Eastern Kentucky and Northern Colorado. Coaching changes or other circumstances interfered with each opportunity.

So the quarterback, originally a 2020 prospect, is reclassifying to 2021. He’ll play this fall at Worcester Academy, a postgraduate school in Massachusetts. He’s posted multiple workout videos on social media and last week collected an offer from Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. Kansas, Purdue and Virginia are among other interested parties.
