We need to have some kind of recruiting contest. I'm not sure what that looks like exactly.

but here is what i was thinking..

First off, is there a free website that will be posting all the recruits when they sign? I know Rivals and Scout do this but they will post when a recruit signs and posts that info in their members only section...therefore it's not supposed to be open to the public.

I was thinking have members post all the recruits they think will have signed with Nebraska in the order they are faxed in, that means literally signed the paperwork, faxed it in and acknowledged by whatever website, by 10am CST. Might be kind of fun.

Also if we do the contest, I can probably get a gift certificate, we will post a headline on top and let's go ahead and change our countdown clock to recruiting signing day in February.

We will start a thread and then close it by midnight of signing day.

Thoughts?

 
If Player A faxes it in at 1:30pm and Player B faxes at 1:45pm, are we going to know the order the faxes were received?

 
Doesn't Huskers.com list the signings as they come in? I want to say that I recall that's been the case. Can anyone confirm?

And what about the papers' web sites? I would think they, or other media outlets, would post that information as it happens.

 
I suppose the simple solution would be to make the contest a prediction of the order they appear on Huskers.com. That way we don't have to worry about determining who faxed in what and when.

BTW - Feb. 2nd is ten days from today. We'd want to get this up and running by this Wednesday, I presume.

Because of the tight deadling, I'm wondering if this contest is too technical? How many people are really going to care.

how about a team ranking? According to Rivals rankings on their opening page...it's free information?

I think they keep track in real time.
