Will Compton: Rick Shaw talked to Will Compton tonight and he will NOT be taking a visit to Missouri this weekend. He did, admit, that he may end up taking a visit or two later as a "backup plan" but that he still wants to be at Nebraska...his "heart is with Nebraska".
Jonas Grey: Josh from our MichiganPreps site and he spoke with Jonas Gray last night and it seems that things remain the same for Gray's commitment, that he was still 100 percent committed.
Jonas is looking at taking visits to some schools as a backup plan in case there was a coaching change. He has not decided which schools he will visit and does not have any dates set up. Some of the schools that are still contacting him are Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Notre Dame.
Josh said that Jonas is in contact with the same group of guys he's always been close with - Gabbert and the rest - and they all are in high spirits. Jonas also, himself, feels Nebraska still has a strong season in them and expects them to make a bowl game.
Simi Kuli: "Yes sir," Kuli said on visiting NU for sure. "I think it is going to be a great experience." He was asked what his current feelings were on the Nebraska Huskers after recently returning from a trip to LSU and coming back with them listed at the top of his short list. "It is Nebraska," said Kuli, who is listed at 6-4 and 270. "You know, a powerhouse team. You know, a very good school. Yup, you can't explain it more than that. Nebraska is Nebraska." He, also, made a brief comment on the recent changes at Nebraska and the possible other developments. "It doesn't matter coaching-wise…whether it is changing coaches. It is not the coaches; it is the program." Kuli has 32 total tackles, six for a loss, four sacks and 16 quarterback hurries. The 16 QB hurries is not a misprint and that is in only four games.
Justin Thompson: "I can't wait to see how it is," Thompson said. "I feel good about the team. I just want to go out there to see that environment there." Thompson has logged 24 tackles, 10 for a loss, three sacks and 14 hurries in six games.
Sean Fisher: "(Nebraska) is having a few problems right now," Fisher said in reference to the last two blowout losses. After the game he had some time to talk to defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove. He has some concerns with possible changes, but his feelings for NU are still the same. His commitment stands as is. "I know they are going through a tough time," he said. "But I want to be a part of getting them back to national status. "That is definitely where I want to go to school. It has been a dream for a long time. I know, personally, how I feel about it."
Darius Parish: Parish said, at this point, he still considers himself committed to the University of Nebraska. However, he said he's still looking at other options as well. "I know that Nebraska has had some tough losses recently," Parish said. "My perception of all of that is that good things happen and bad things happen. I'm not holding anything against them for all of that." "Like I've said before, we'll see if I feel comfortable with everything at Nebraska when I visit there in November and then, we'll go from there."
Brice Givens: "I'm still committed. I'm still a Husker right now," Givens said. "It's crazy what's going on. I'm not going to decommit or anything like that. After the season, after I see what happens, I can make a decision based on that." "I never really lost touch with Texas. I stayed in touch with coach (Bobby) Kennedy and coach (Mack) Brown. We've been talking all throughout the season," said Givens. "I'm not decommitting from Nebraska, it's kind of a 'what-if.' If this happens, I have to have a back-up plan," he said. "I just want to win state, that's what our entire team's goal has been. We haven't lost site of that," he said. "Every single week is just another rung in the ladder and we've got to get to the top. Individual-wise, I want to dominate on the field and prove to everybody that I'm the player that they've hyped me up to be."
Blaine Gabbert: The top recruit in the Show-Me State may be back on the board for the Missouri Tigers. Parkway West quarterback Blaine Gabbert told PowerMizzou.com he will take an unofficial visit to Columbia for the Tigers' game against Texas Tech this weekend. "I'll be at the game," Gabbert said via text message Tuesday night. "I'll be there with my brother, his friends and their dads." Gabbert had a final three of Missouri, Nebrsaka and Alabama in the spring before committing to the Huskers. Amid recent turmoil in Lincoln, many rumors have swirled about Gabbert possibly opening up his commitment. At this point, he remains a Husker pledge.
