My problem is with the guys who don't hope he proves them wrong. There 8s a small but vocal contingent that seems intent on hoping he fails.

And no, not agreeing with me doesn't make a person wrong. What makes them wrong is already having their mind made up and not giving the guy a chance. I don't mind doubt and deserved criticism but some of these douche canoes would rather be right than to have things work out. I guess I don't have much tolerance for that considering that, for better or worse, Riley will be our coach for an absolute minimum of the next 2 to 3 years. It is just way too soon to already be having the same attitude some Pelini haters had after 6 years.

And that is fine. There is some good basis for that being a person's opinion. It's not unreasonable to have the opinion that somebody else may have been a better choice. I just don't think it's right for people to already be expecting things to be fully turned around or to be convinced they will never get there under Riley. Like I've said many times, give the guy a chance to prove he was the right or wrong hire. IMO he has not been given that full, fair chance yet.

The sh*ttiest thing about it was, there wasn't a really good choice. MR was a safe choice, after the PR sh*tshow Bo had become...

That would appear to have played a huge role in his selection. And really, long term, starting the healing process with the fans and media may prove to be just as important as any football related improvement. Personally I think MR stands a good chance of taking us to the next level. That may be more hope than anything else but even having hope is an improvement over the past chunk of years.

I wish I could share your enthusiasm, but I can't buy into a guy who's biggest bowl victory is the Sun. He's a wayyyyyy less douchey Callahan.

I wish that I could keep my head up about this, but it's tough. I think the next 2 to 3 years are going to be really tough, and test a lot of die hards, myself included...

The thing that gets me is people who never ever post. Then when something bad happens, or we're not doing to well, they're all over the board posting in every thread. Do these people only have negative stuff to say in real life too?
