Man, this seems like a bad idea.  Roadhouse is great because it is bad.  Sometimes that much bad just makes something good.  I just can't see how this will be bad enough to be good.

Roadhouse was great because it tried to be serious about a topic that literally no one has ever once cared about.

In my life there are two movies that I still don't know how they were green lighted. 

1:  Footloose.   I love the movie but imagine trying to convince a studio to give you money for it??

2.  Roadhouse...I mean...it is about a legendary bouncer/cooler

the script was so intellectual in the original roadhouse.    can they repeat gems like this?

It definitely seems like a bit of an odd choice although Gyllenhaal can do the brooding thing pretty well.  The thing with Road House is it's campy and over the top and I don't know if Gyllenhaal can pull that off.  Now, to his credit he's a maniac in Ambulance and honestly pretty funny so maybe?
