Originally a professional dancer, having studied ballet since the age of 4 and moving on to others such as Jazz, hip-hop and flamenco, she moved into modeling, singing and acting. In Puerto Rico, she gained public attention as a dancer and co-host of the variety show Que Vacilon. She moved to New York City, not knowing any English, to pursue a singing and acting career at the age of 21 and worked on her one-woman show, Out Here on My Own. Her first English speaking role was for the CBS soap opera As the World Turns as Pilas, the show's first Latina character in its over 40-year history on the air. Her feature film breakthrough role came in 2001, as Jackie Chan's love interest in Rush Hour 2. She was the only thing interesting in her follow up movies taking supporting roles in Boat Trip, Basic and the Nightstalker. If you have a special place in your heart for beautiful latin women then I highly suggest the 2003 comedy Chasing Papi where she starred alongside latin singer Jaci Velasquez and Sofia Vergara. Although mostly known for her acting, she has always felt passionate towards singing having said, "Singing for me was a big, big dream. I absolutely love it. It's a more organized art form then acting so I'm much more

comfortable doing it." She even has an album out now, Borinquena.
