Shields and HOF

How long do you think it will take Will to get into the HOF. He missed this year, but was the only first year eligible player to make the final 15.... Read that he started all but 1 game in his career at KC.

I have a feeling that he will just come up short next year, but will be in on the 3rd year ballot. I have nothing to back this up other than "gut feeling". I think he deserves the HOF, but will have to wait for another year or two... there are a lot of guys out there with rings and great careers too that are waiting.

- unrelated.... although he had a lot of off the field problems, I am surprised that Charles Haley didn't get in again. Only player with 5 rings

 
Too much politics IMO. With the number of pro bowls Shields has, the only reason he didn't get in was the whole BS about 'first ballot' blah blah blah. Someone is or is not HOF level, the waiting game is sportswritter BS.
