Spiced Apple Cake:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 cups chopped Red or Yellow Delicious apples
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
Cream butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl. Sift flour with baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture Stir in apples, raisins, and nuts. Pour into a greased and lightly floured large bunt pan. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 1 hour. Drizzle with icing, if desired.
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
3 to 5 tablespoons milk
4 cups Powdered Sugar
Make Frosting:
Cook butter and brown sugar together until well blended and brown sugar is dissolved.
Add 3 T. milk and 4 cups Powdered Sugar; add just enough milk to spread.
