We're his only offer at TE. He's been playing OT. Has offers at DE as well.

Hadn't heard much from us before the offer. Had to ask if we had a new coach.

 
He's got impressive height and plays with a lot of intensity in all the roles he's asked to fill, both offense and defense. Really gets after it. We're his third P5 offer, and hopefully that'll increase before it's all said and done.

Guys who don't have a fixed position are always a tough eval for the recruiting services (and recruiters!) Maybe that works to our advantage. They must really like him as a blocking TE? If he's not asked to bulk up and be a tackle, he can probably be a pretty hard-nosed special teams player as well. He tackles with crunch.

I say recruit him as a DE.

We recruited a kid from South Dakota as a TE that went on to be a first round pick OT...Riley Reiff. He only had 3 offers.

 
Kid has a great motor and is a football player. This is the type of kid that it is hard to miss on. Kid can play OT, TE, or DE. Good hands just needs to play with a little better leverage. His pad level gets high at times but he overcomes that with great feet and being very athletic. This kid is a D1 football player, just not a lot of teams have offered him yet.
