Let's let him coach a few games first before we crown him the second coming of Deveney/Osborne.

I agree it is a good hire and all, but he has to earn the praise as a coach first.

Frost will win games at NU. Oh, and I didn't take this posters post as meaning the second coming, but more of a savior of sorts... of which I agree. This was a very important hire, one that could have seen NU drift away for good. I don't think ONLY Frost could have saved NU, but one with similar coaching style/attitude.

What if he fails?  Not to be a scrooge but let's not count our chickens before they hatch.  I feel like he's a great coach but I refuse to get overly optimistic.

I want to respectfully disagree. What do we have that Illinois and Minnesota don't have? Fans, facilities.. even without frost I don't think we would have slipped to mediocrity

For a split second, i thought that, too.  But, it's not in his DNA to fail.  And, what exactly do we even consider "failing"?  What's the benchmark?  At this point, I'd consider it a win to just not be embarrassed next year.

Welcome to the board. I think it was a great hire.....

Watching the video montage above, watch it again, but don't watch Frost.  Watch the OL, the RB's selling out on the fake, the receivers and TE blocking down field and the mentality of a team that can't be beat, won't be beat......That's what I am most excited about.  A cultural revolution if you will....

I think we should slow down on the Kool-Aid for a bit. Do I think, Scott was an excellent hire....yes. He knows what it takes to win here better than most anyone, but the landscape of college football has greatly shifted since the 1990's. We can get back to where want to as a program, but it is only through tireless work and attention to detail by the coaching staff and players, as well as full support of the fanbase. The fanbase needs to be be optimistic but also realistic with our expectations of Frost and this coaching staff.
