I have gotten the error from time to time over the past two years with multiple games, more recently with Call of Duty 4. I never really look at my disks, since the only place I've known them to be is in the case or my console (I've very careful with them). However the other night I was playing CoD4 online with a buddy of mine, he got the error, took out the disc and told me it had scratches on it. I thought he was crazy. Now that you say this I should go look at my discs. Anyway, here is an FAQ search from Gamespot:I bought a Halo 3 version of the x box 360 about a week ago.
It keeps putting circular scratches about a quarter to a half inch from the end of the disc until it wont play anymore. This happened to any one else. Am I doing something wrong or just have a bad x box?
:yeahIf your box moves while the disc is spinning, it scratches it up pretty bad. At most places, they'll take the game back within a set time limit, so all you have to do is take it back and tell them what happened.
