JJ Husker, why do you get so angry at post so easily, why is it that when someone says something the slightest bit off from what you see you just blow up.  Ive been here 8 years and youve been doing it this entire time.  Not sure why something that didnt even have anything pointed in your direction ruffled your feathers.

knapplc  why did you do that to my thread, ultimately im not going to slay anyone for it but i thought fair was fair.  And i thought it was justly equal to what you did.  Me trying to bring enthusiasm to the board for a pretty hefty opponent and you post something about peter jackson and the entire trilogy of the lord of the rings.  Now ive been known to go off the rails from time to time but that was a pretty hard core derailment you made.  So i was trying to get you to see how s#!tty it is to have someone crap on something you created.  And thats exactly what you did youve been here long enough.

enhance  which leads me to you, as a mod i though we were  to have a unbiased approach to things.  Yet my post got deleted and his remained.  Both had very little to do with the subject at hand yet mine was deleted and his wasnt.  If your going to tell me that there is some type of hierarchy where some posters are allowed to get away with things and some aren't then so be it.

That didn’t ruffle my feathers at all. It was simply an observation I made. As you said, I didn’t have a dog in the fight and I really didn’t care about that topic one way or the other. It just seemed obvious to me that the derailment of your thread bothered you to the point you wanted to derail or junk up another topic. I put my comment in the dbhof because I thought your noise study post was a little bit douchey. However I did stop short of giving you a dbhof nomination for it. I generally like you and your contributions to the board. Really it was just an observation trying to explain your obnoxious noise study post  :dunno

This situation probably would've been handled differently had you reported the initial situation and thread in question, instead of changing the OP and retaliating against knapplc. It's unreasonable to make a claim of unfair treatment when you didn't use the Report function, manipulated the facts of the situation by changing your OP, and then also sought to turn the other cheek.

We have a Report function and a system in place for a reason. The only report we received about any of this was your post in the excessive noise thread, the one that was hidden. I'm literally just now seeing knapplc's post in the DBHOF explaining what kicked this whole thing off.

So, hopefully that clears it up and gives you the tools and knowledge on how to better handle something like this in in the future.

Nothing was done with mean spirit or bad intent towards you, and if you want to play the victim card when you A. didn't report the derailment, then B. got passive aggressive instead of publicly or privately addressing it directly with a, "hey what the hell? i don't appreciate that", by all means go for it but everyone's going to see through the butthurt.

It's all good man. Laugh it off and move on.

I apologize for that. I (obviously) have an issue with Peter Jackson's rendition of my favorite books and I'll talk about that from time to time. I had no intention of getting that wordy, but I did. I didn't mean for it to be anything other than a throw-away comment, but it derailed the thread.

I'm a little surprised it bothered you that much, but it clearly did and for that, again, I apologize.

Wow this went better than  I thought.  If it had been one post it wouldn't of been that big of a deal but by the time i had gotten back to it the whole thing was fully off the rails. If i didn't handle the situation approximately then i guess that's on me, but by the time i had gotten to it it was soo off the rails i just figured to change the title head put in some Lord of the Rings info on there and it would get moved into oblivion.

And no one tried to manipulate the situation, like i said the thread had been killed there was no going back.  So i tried to make it something for a topic of conversation to continue in another place.

And i honestly wouldn't of cared as much until i saw that my post in the noise thread was deleted, which by the way was appropriate to the conversation.  Its not like i was talking about the mating habits of lizards, i was talking about noise and how it affects the mind.  And then saw it brought up in the DBHF and i was like al right, something is clearly amiss here.

If it helps….I’ve found that the slightest hint of anything Lord of the Rings will cause any topic to be derailed rather quickly. I’m not a LOTR fan but there are a lot of people on HB that nerd out a bit and have very definite opinions about it. I don’t recall what your OP in that thread was but I’m thinking it was a LOTR related video and that’s about all it takes hereabouts. So, in a way, it was all your fault  :lol:

It looks like we're all having a kumbaya moment, so I won't belabor the point any further than the following. I do take issue with unfair narratives being concocted about the way we moderate things when, if you had simply reported knapplc's post, and then let us address it, virtually everything that happened since probably wouldn't have happened. You would've had your thread in its original intent, you wouldn't have felt inspired to "crap" on knapplc, and then you wouldn't have felt aggrieved by having your post hidden.  :thumbs

Just use the report function the next time someone does something you believe is against Board Guidelines and/or inappropriate. And don't retaliate. It weakens your position/argument.
