Threads

As we've all seen some of the crazy talk, gif bombs and off-topic stuff is getting a little out of hand. We've tried to handle it by hiding posts, putting reminders in threads, etc. It appears that we are going to need to reign folks in with a little heavier hand here at some point. The wedding photo post in the Scott Frost thread from today was creepy as hell so I've hid it in the thread and editing the "quoted" posts of that post after that. If the Scott Frost thread spirals down the worm hole I think we close the darn thing and move it to the junkyard. There is some creepy/weird stuff being said throughout those 79 pages. 

Thoughts?

It seems to be a few people who are routinely turning it into a freak show. Perhaps we should place a message in there with a suggestion that warnings will soon be handed out. Personally, I don't mind people putting gifs into their responses except when they're like 'time to gif bomb' and they do it for fun.

My fear with locking/moving the thread is people will find another outlet in the football forum for discussing Frost or letting their out their frustrations. In a way, I think it's a good thing that it's (mostly) confined to one ridiculous thread as opposed to multiple little ones. The silliness is pretty rampant in there right now and I'm mostly trying to key in on the heavy aggressors or people clearly violating a board rule.

I guess that's my convoluted way of saying I don't believe there's an easy answer with everything that's going on right now.
