TracFones

So I'm paying a crazy (IMO) amount for my monthly smart phone from Sprint. However, I don't really use the Internet anymore. Not only that, my unused minutes/texts don't roll over to the next month. If I don't use them, I lose them. I keep seeing advertisements on HSN for TracFones. They always say you pay as you go and your unused minutes and texts roll over to the next month. Plus, there is no contract; you just have to pay for the phone.

I was wondering if anyone here has a TracFone or has experience with one. How is the coverage? Do your calls come in clear? Where did you buy yours from? etc...

I used to sell them a lot when I worked at a Walgreens in high school. As far as I know, they worked OK (mind you this was almost 10 years ago).

Great burner phones for drug dealers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That was going to be my response. Are you going to use the TracFone to sell drugs?

Don't answer that Street. It's direct violation of your 5th Amendment rights.

I would sell drugs, if I had the connections. Anyways, I take it no one knows anyone that has one? As long as the reception is good and my calls don't drop, I would ditch Sprint in a heartbeat. I just want to hear someone's advice who has tried one recently.

I don't know if this fits your needs, but what about Google Fi? Depending on where you live, using any of these carriers that piggyback off an existing network might be a risky proposition.
