@TrueHusker created an account today and immediately started a thread predicting BYU would beat us 63-17.

Nothing too serious at the moment but it smells like a troll. One to keep an eye on.

The IP resolves to Omaha so perhaps it's just been a bad day but......

 
Good call. It may be a troll, a disgruntled ex-member, or part of the SportsHoopla wave, etc, or it may be just football season and about the time of year we get an influx of random new guys. It's hard to tell but we can be consistent and let 'em have as much fun (within rules) as their attention span allows for.

If it is a troll or a disgruntled banned member, their goal will be to get us (the moderating team) to get overzealous and look bad.

 
He started this beauty of a thread in the wee hours of the morning: LINK I replaced the youtube in his OP of the 2001 NU loss to CU with another youtube video and left a post warning him about trolling. Perhaps we should give him a warning point, and then ban him if he's only here to troll.

He also started an odd topic in the volleyball forum about a guy with a long beard.

I doubt he's part of the Hoopla crowd. They're actually pretty good guys (despite Jack_John_Mark's odd thread about swearing--which I moved to the Lounge). Trust me, if they end up migrating over here there are several of them who will be welcome additions. (OTOH, I have no idea whether it's them or not.)

I went through his complaints just now in the reporting center. None were trolling or valid reports IMO. So I sent him the following PM:

Hello, we received your reports and after reviewing those reports none of those fit what we consider to be trolling. The backlash you are feeling from some members is from what I think is your first post. When you start your first post with terms like "sage advice" and make yourself seem like your predictions are the only accurate ones or deliver your message in a way that makes it come across that your opinion may be the only accurate one.............that's going to come across poorly. Maybe try changing up your delivery for your message without changing what you think may happen will help. Welcome to huskerboard.com and we look forward to having you around.

That's the nicest way I can say, "You're acting like a dumbass and then you're surprised people are reacting negatively towards you?!" "News flash, stop acting like a dumbass and that your opinion is all that matters and your problems will disappear!"

But, why would a colorado fan show up on the board and click on this guys profile???? Smells like a troll, I'm all in favor of letting it go a little while longer to see how it goes and let the members get some aggression out on this guy.

 
I sent him several PM's, he just doesn't get how his behavior is coming across as being a jerk and pompous. I can't help someone like that, I'm good with it as well.
