What decade of your life went the fastest?

I am sure we are all different ages but probably somewhat close.  I was thinking about life stuff the other day and so far for me...

My 40's have been a FLASH.  It is crazy.

I felt like my 20's lasted a long time and my 30's were amazing.  But neither seemed all that fast, just fun.

But my 40's, that is just a different story.

What about you guys?

My 40's weren't too bad, but my 50's are flying by. The older you get, they faster they go. Yeah, my 20's seemed like they lasted forever. Too bad they didn't. :)

Every year has seemed to go by faster and faster since about age 40-45. This year literally seems to be going by faster than last year etc. Honestly it kinda sucks. Feels like I’m getting cheated out of time. Hoping it slows down in retirement.

It is crazy how long and how fun 25 to 39 was.

It just seemed endless.

I have an old retired teaching friend, years ago he told me something like "Just wait until your 40's, that is when things really start to change"  and he was totally right.

Well, since I was a drunk piece of crap for most of it, I'd say my 20s....especially early 20s.

Now I'm almost through my 50s and that's gone pretty fast for other reasons.

The older we get the more we feel time is going by faster -  I think it is because we have more memories then we have anticipated new experiences before us.  As kids, time went by so slow because we were waiting to get to middle school then HS and then graduation.  College and the first new job and then marriage and all of the trips we want to take 'in the future'.  So the future was always out there and it always seemed to take long to get 'there'.    I"ll be 70 at the end of the year and it retrospect, it seems like all of life has gone by fast.    To me, I think my 40s went buy the fastest in that was when I seemed to accomplished a lot.  As I got into my later 50s and 60s some health issues cropped up that weren't a part of my experience before - that has made the last 15 years 'drag'.   But with that said, I'm using the age 70 as a 'new beginning' for me. Working on diet, retirement goals (I started a new hobby - wood carving) and I plan on doing more volunteering. This and hopefully more travel with my wife will get the anticipation of new things back into my life.

I have to keep remembering this tag line under each of my posts:

You don't stop exploring because you are old.  You get old because you stop exploring.

Yeah. I was just reading an article about that- as we are grow, new visual/audio experiences make life seem slower as our brains soak it all in. After awhile, we get into a routine where nothing is new and we see and do the same things every day, and everything seems to be scheduled, our brain sort of go on auto-pilot and time goes by faster. Anyway, kind of depressing. Going to go huff some oily rags in the garage now.
