What is on your cheeseburger?

Okay, so your perfect burger, what are you putting on it?

Mine...

First, I like a cheap bun, not a fan of expensive and/or thick buns (this includes my taste in women too)

Yellow Mustard

Lettuce (shredded)

Pickles are not a must have but I will take them.

Tomato

American Cheese

Sometimes I put fries on my burger

And, ketchup, sometimes I will dip it in ketchup instead of putting it on the burger.

Cheese mustard pickles.  And crispy onion rings from Bronco's Drive-In.

Although I usually eat it in my PU truck on the way to Miller's Outpost.

When I need some new cologne.  Like Drakkar Noir or Stetson.

Usually just the classic toppings. Ketchup, mustard, maybe mayo, lettuce, dill pickle, onion (pref grilled) & tomato. Oh, and cheese. Gotta have cheese.

Another fav combo is, peanut butter, blackberry jam, bacon and jalapeño or chili pepper.

I forgot mayo!

And peanut butter on a burger is amazing

So is an egg!

Sounds like someone still shops at JC Penny!

I have found as I now only griddle and I don't grill, that a smash burger, almost needs NOTHING at all.  It will be amazing

And I really don't even like onions but I have done theses and they are amazing

I do my smashburgers similar except I put the onion down first then smash the burger on it. Ground chuck is best. Thought I’d get fancy and do some wagyu smashburgers. Kinda sucked. Chuck is where it’s at.

I put the onions down first too!  Way better!

And I only use the cheapest fattest groundbeef for my smash burgers!

80/20 is the "best" I will use.

Oh and I will also put mustard on the burger while on the griddle.

PB & bb jam - wow I have never heard of that.  Umm, Is it ok if I say it sounds gross?

It’s okay to say it, but oh so wrong. You gotta try it. BB jam or bacon jam with PB and bacon….

Leadbelly in the Lincoln Haymarket has a good one.

Raspberry Beret

candied bacon, raspberry jalapeño jelly, jerk peanut butter, romaine, red onion on toasted brioche bun.

Ok, I will try it.  But I've been a turkey bacon man since 2005 or so...  Also, been crunchy PB on waffles and pancakes since mid 80's.  With maple syrup over it.  Which sounds gross to some until they tried.

I haven't done this in a while but this is my favorite self made burger:

2 beef patties

Chopped onions  - mix in wt the patties

tomato

cheese - gouda or Havarti  or cheddar are my favorites

bacon

Salt and pepper the meat and/or add a touch of W sauce or BBQ sauce

(next time I may add peanut butter - Fat Guys Burgers in Tulsa has a dynamite PB burger)

I put the cheese and tomato between the patties and tie the patties together with bacon and use a toothpick to secure the bacon at the top.  Obviously, the patties cannot be real thick.  The tomato keeps it from getting done in the middle so it is a trick to not burn the outside while leaving the inside raw - which you don't want.  I found it best to use direct heat at first to brown the outside and then move it to indirect heat and let it slow cook.

The egg on top is a great option which I like.   I like to toast the buns on the grill and add a lot of mayo and BBQ sauce - I'm not a big mustard or ketchup fan.
