What kind of customer are you - haircut version

I go to a barber that owns his own shop - I don't tip. If he needs more money, he should raise his prices.

Great cuts - generally not either - I am cheap.

Might be a guy hair thing? My mother in law goes to a lady who owns her own shop and still gives a tip.

I like to get my hair faded, so it's hard to find a barber that can cut my hair well. I found a guy that can do very good fades, so I usually tip him when I have the extra cash. If I just go to some chain place and get a crappy cut, I'm not gonna tip, though.

Sports clips always has coupons for their triple play haircut and it f'ing RULES, you get haircut, steam towel and a scalp massage for like 13 bucks with the coupon.

I tip. I usually only give a dollar here in GI but in Kearney when I went to "Replays" I always gave 2 bucks. I loved the steam towel, shampoo and massage.

The only barber I go to won't even accept a tip if I give him one. But even though he's dirt cheap I still cut my own hair 90% of the time because I'm married and don't give a rat's a$$ how I look anymore.

Any place where I'd be expected to give a tip is out of the question for me.

100%. Kojak style. The last barber shop trip was 20 years ago.

Did anyone on this board ever get their haircut at The Captain's Chair in downtown Lincoln. Man, I loved that place. They were great barbers, and their prices were reasonable.

They would have magazines that you could read before/during your haircut, and they included Playboy. A friend of mine and I would always joke about being too shy/embarrassed to read a Playboy while getting our hair cut.

I tip $3 or $4 bucks, sometimes $5. On a SuperCuts haircut that costs around $16 or so.
