I use this quote in ministry ... with a twist ... because I don't think we are to "should" all over ourselves ... that is religious CRAP [Churchy Rules Arousing Pride].
"God loves you as you are, not as you could be ... because you may never be as you could be."
I think this is more accurate to the gospel as He loved us while we were sinners, helpless, ungodly, enemies and deserving wrath [Romans 5]. In Ephesians 2 we read that we were "without hope", "far away" and "excluded from the Life of God".
Yet, God demonstrated His love ... and died. The door to Life IN Christ is available to all ... but you "shouldn't" believe if you really don't want the Love, Life or Liberty He purchased for you IN Christ.
