Why Are You a Husker Fan?

Curious how everyone became a Husker fan.

I was born in Nebraska.  Myself and all four of my siblings are UN-L alumni.  My uncle worked for the Huskers back in the 60s.

Not sure how to edit a poll question as this is my first.  Option one should say that "I grew up in Nebraska or moved at an early age, but didn't attend college"

My dad was born and raised in Omaha and graduated from Nebraska. I never lived in Nebraska but grew up in South Dakota, so I was still close.

I'm a Nebraska fan because of my dad and because the Huskers were really good when I was a kid.

I became a Nebraska fan growing up in a family of Nebraskans, being indoctrinated into the tribe and the social identity of the whole thing.

I continue to be a Nebraska fan because the university keeps giving me reasons to be proud of it, and because I actually believe in ideas like, "Not the victory but the action", and, "In the deed the glory". And because it's entertainment.

#1 & #2 and ditto to Landlord.  Ive lived away from the state for almost 25 years and I will always be proud to fly the flag on Saturdays, wear my colors and sport the license plate frame in the car.

Both of my parents are from Nebraska, so I was raised a fan.  I visited the state a lot as a kid and went to some games. I usually go to a game a year these days.

I married a Husker fan who was born and raised here.  I think he thinks he has created a 'Husker Monster' as I'm now more passionate about Husker football than he is! Lol
