Before we do a deep dive into Bo Pelini's Worst Losses, some housecleaning:

- Mike Riley's Best Win: witih 75% of the vote, 2015 Michigan State won, handily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQkxAOcshOQ&t=2s

- Mike Riley's Worst Loss: Northern Illinois, with 47% of the vote: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h13lUNsFGf4

Now that we've looked at Riley's best wins and worst losses, and Pelini's best wins, let's take a look at some of the worst losses during the Bo Pelini era at Nebraska.

Game 1 - 2009 Iowa State: 8 turnovers. 7 points. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. #Ugh

Game 2 - 2010 Texas: Cornhusker Hotel incident or not, the buildup to this game lead to one of the biggest disappointments in program history.

    - ESPN: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=302890158

    - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ciqf7MYTByY (mute this; awful music)

Game 3 - 2012 Wisconsin 2: Bo's best chance at a conference championship blew up in the team's face. Melvin Gordon Nightmare part 1.

    - ESPN: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=323360275

    - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhD8DiDJhP0

Game 4 - UCLA 2013: Up 21-10 at halftime, and the Bruins roar back for 28 unanswered in the 3rd quarter. Still my favorite alternate uniforms, though.

    - ESPN: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=332570158

    - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VxZ8UapqMY

Game 5 - Wisconsin 2014: Melvin Gordon Nightmare part 2. 16.32 yards per carry. Nebraska was up 17-3 at one point.

    - ESPN: http://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=400547974

    - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZM-nmPHYyo

Voting will be open for a week, and if there is a game which you think fits the bill better, please vote "Other" and describe it in a post. Thanks!

2012 Wisconsin is the hands down winner here. Nebraska had no business losing by 40+ points to a 7-5 Wisconsin team that backed its way into a conference championship game because of tOSU's ineligibility. Not only was the performance uninspired but NU's defense was embarrassingly torched by some of the same plays over and over. On paper, that was BP's best chance to win a conference championship and he couldn't get it done. I'm still completely flustered by that game to this day.

As a side note, 2014 Wisconsin is an interesting choice to consider because this loss was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I felt it was time for BP to be let go after that game.

Gotta go with the 2012 Wisconsin game. We were flawed, but we had beat them before, they weren't a great team, and we got thrashed.

2012 Badger game and it’s not even close imo.  That was the worst effort I’ve ever seen a team give in a meaningful game.

There is no reason whatsoever for Nebraska to give up 600 yards rushing to a 7-5 team.

2012 UCLA

Why this game and not the aforementioned Wisconsin game? Because this is where that gameplan came from. This is the game that exposed Nebraska in the flats. Wisconsin relentlessly attacked Nebraska outside the numbers, running and passing, with their backs.

Wisc CCG - only good in that game was the TM run.  But no way we should have experienced that kind of beat down on National TV.  Bo had the team totally unprepared.

Yes, Wisc # 2 was a nail in Bo's coaching coffin for me but it was just a continuation of what had been - with an !!!!!.

By the way - remind me again about following:

2010 Texas: Cornhusker Hotel incident

If I have it correct, rumors are that Bo, Carl and a state trooper lured a prominent message board poster (not from here) into the basement of the Cornhusker Hotel and berated him over some of the things he was posting online, right before going to the stadium for the game.

I’d go with KB block. TM was just running for his life. But definitely this game was the worst and from that game on I never expected the team to ever achieve anything important under Pelini.

So in other words, their heads weren't into the game either.  Kind of thin skinned if they are going to that length to correct someone before a big game.

Wisc CCG - the strange thing is I was concerned about losing this game not because of our D, but because Wisconsin had returned some injured players from their D, and were a much better team than when we played them previously. Then I sat dumbfounded as the mighty Wisconsin O torched us. This was the most disappointed I had ever been of a Husker football team.

That, and Kenny Bell's totally legal block.
yes, I couldn't remember if that was in that game to another Wisc game - and it was totally legal.  In HS I got called for a very similar block.  I was a TE and was down field and a short flare pass went to the RB who ran for a 50 yard TD - but the ref called a block in the back on me right in front of our bench. My coach was livid at the ref - it was clear that I had positioned myself properly for the big hit.  Like Bell I came down on the guy who didn't see me coming.  We loss the game by 6 pts. :bang   Oh well, I only go to therapy 2x a week for it now. :P
