Assessing the talent:
"Williams is an electrifying athlete with great foot-quickness and speed. Lacks ideal height but is very well-built and put-together. Projects best as a slot receiver and return specialist. Shows good shiftiness and stop-start foot-quickness with the ball in his hands. Has loose hips and is real slippery to wrap up with his striking jump-cut skill and great body control. Flashes good burst and acceleration when he finds an open seam in space; has a longer, smoother stride. Very quick off the line and is difficult to mirror and retain leverage on. A challenge for defensive backs to stick with on underneath option routes. Shows good quickness out of his cuts and is sharp out of his breaks. Dangerous in the return game with his speed, open-field vision, lateral quickness, hips and ball skills. He does need polish as a receiver at this time. Hands, intermediate-to-deep route running and overall skill set can be inconsistent. Lack of height is a concern when challenging for the jump ball. Quick-twitched athlete whose burst gives him deceptive strength off the line but he could struggle avoiding the jam. Physical upside may be limited. That said, we feel Williams could develop into a good weapon at the next level with his ability to create underneath mismatches in space. Great skills in the return game add to his resume. All the physical tools to develop as a corner as well."
