The Legacy of Tom Osborne

Not to take away from his accomplishments, but Osborne only had one Heisman winner, Rozier.
If anything, that goes to show how remarkable Dr. Tom's accomplishments as a coach were. So many of the guys who played during his tenure were small-town Nebraska walk-ons who wanted nothing more than to come play football for Coach Osborne.

Thank you Dr. Tom, you have given us all so much more than winning. Like others have stated, words just can't describe it. It's a sad day but also a happy one. Enjoy your retirement.

Very good job with the write up Knapp. :thumbs

Thank you for all you have given and contributed to our beloved university. You will be missed. :bigredn: Great job TO.

You guys can discuss exact dates all you want but I'm giving Osborne credit for being directly involved with all 3 Heismans. He was here and the OC when Rodgers got his and I'm sure that Crouch's decision to play here was highly based on, if not directly recruited while Tom was in charge, his involvement with the program. No need to nitpick this, TO was involved with all 3.

Wasnt Crouch already here in 97? Wasn't he a redshirt freshman playing in 98? I only think of this because of all the hubbub about Cody Green being the first true freshman starting QB since Frazier, and I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I think the coaching staff should wear red pants to honor Tom during the game this weekend.

That's a dope look IMO.
