I HATE living in such a republican community. I find it ridiculous that even 14-17 year old kids are COMPLETELY resistant to change. There are not many things more frustrating....

I hear ya. Where are you located?

Northeast Nebraska. I spent a couple years in Missouri going to college and student teaching, and while they are still old-school thinkers, they are much more open to change. Where I'm at now, I'll say things like, "I think that we can do this a little differently/better" and they all act like I'm changing everything that they have ever known. It's frustrating.

Yes. I'll give you a hint. I started in January, and I went to one of the first basketball games in January, and Matt Herian was sitting there.

Seriously, he's in my softball league and he is a giant and can still jump like a deer! Nice beer gut but that's a perk that comes with drinking beer

Yeah, people living in small towns and farmers can be extremely conservative.

It blows my mind how teenage kids can already be so stuck in their ways that they fear any sort of change, just because it's a little bit different.

Youre the type that tries to make things better. I'm the type that wants to leave them alone if theyre working fine. It's not bad either way, just a difference in opinion and philosophy. We could both find instances where each side is correct.

Youre the type that tries to make things better. I'm the type that wants to leave them alone if theyre working fine. It's not bad either way, just a difference in opinion and philosophy. We could both find instances where each side is correct.

Very true. But being in the position that I'm in, I want everything to be as good as it can possibly be, and for that to happen, some additions, changes, and improvements need to be made here and there.

Nothing that I've suggested are even huge changes. They're just little things here and there, and everybody here acts like the damn world's gonna end.
