nebraskafaninwi has been spamming the boards, so I asked him to chill out for a while. He took that as a challenge and started posting more, so I put him on Mod Preview for a while on Friday. Since then he has created two different accounts for the express purpose of circumventing the posting restriction.

Please perma-ban the IP, 66.191.89.137.

 
That's one way to get his groupies from complaining ad nauseum.

But his/her reaction to your suggestion is a banning offense.

So shall it be written; so shall it be done :D

Didn't seem to be the most user friend poster to inhabit the board.

Done. He's actually posted through 29 different IP addresses, and I banned them all. The most used IP was 66.191.89.137. But he's also posted through 166.181.3.*, so keep an eye out for any IPs that fall in that range. We may have to do a wildcard ban if he comes in over another version of that range. Thanks!

It doesn't fall into the IP range you've listed, but just a gut feeling here. I think bigredfootball is another alias of his?

 
Never mind - found them. This is interesting. bigredfootball is posting out of Utah (if we can believe the IP). nebraskafaninwi posted most often through an IP that resolves to Wisconsin. The other IPs he used (the "range" IPs) appear to resolve to Chicago. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

 
Two of the three services I've used say this IP address (216.169.110.193) is an anonymous proxy.

Also, he uses gmail accounts, and this one (wsnfootballschedules@gmail.com) is from the Wisconsin Sports Network.

More and more this wifi guy is seeming like a really dedicated, bizarre troll.

This guy is unreal. He keeps sprouting up like a mushroom all over the place. His latest name is @mfldhuskers, and the email address is "shadowsofcr@yahoo.com." That would be short for "Shadows of Camp Randall," I presume.

You can trace that back to the Scout boards, where a member by the name of shadowsofcr posts almost exclusively on the Wisconsin boards. He does have some posts on the Nebraska board, and he has one on the Alabama Scout board talking about how great Nebraska's 90s dynasty was. Weird stuff. However, his posts on the Wisconsin boards are full of "us" and "we" so I'm pretty confident he's a Badger fan.

Another couple of members that have just recently registered:

@mfldhuskers5656 - I don't know if this is wifi. I'm suspicious this is another member's novelty account they made after Creighton Duke's thread in the Board Feedback forum.

@pollywog69 - THIS one I think is wifi. Frank, any chance you can find his IP even though he hasn't posted yet? The Mods used to have this capability but haven't since the board software changed.

@TJSker - Not sure about this one. Just joined but doesn't post, but has come back to the site a few times since joining on Sunday. I'm suspicious this is wifi as well, but I don't want to nuke the person if it isn't. They're using a gmail account as well - although that's not a smoking gun, since several of our new members have signed up with gmail accounts and I don't suspect them all of being wifi.

I hit the "flag as spammer" button on some obvious wifi sockpuppets including @bigredfootball, @aloveforfootball and @5656.

The guy has to be using an onion router. Which means we can't ban him with a wildcard. All we can do is ban each account as it become obvious that it's him.

1. pollywog69's IP is 70.195.0.51. No other member uses it. It resolves to Kansas City, Missouri. See the note about TJSker, below - same city/state. Email is bigredn69@gmail.com.

2. Both mfldhuskers and mfldhuskers5656 use the IP of 74.115.210.193. The IP resolves to North Carolina. mfldhuskers5656's email account is jessicalarson0@gmail.com.

3. TJSker has the IP of 69.150.170.14. IP resolves to Kansas City, Missouri. Email address is jntsample@gmail.com.

4. aloveforfootball has an IP of 66.191.89.137, which resolves to Wisconsin. It's also an IP used by recruiting and nebraskafaninwi. Email is ajehealth@gmail.com.

5. 5656 has the IP of 199.58.164.113, which resolves to San Diego, CA. No other member has used that IP. Email is topperspizzafranchises@gmail.com.

I'm banning all of them, and the IPs. Probably won't do any good, but let's give it a try.
