Thread of Hate

I hate when teams sign up for city sports leagues that are obviously below their skill level. Can't be fun for them, certainly isn't fun for anyone else.
But if they don't sandbag how else are they gonna win one of those cool trophies?

If their collegiate eligibility has expired what else do you expect them to do? (Coming from a guy who dominates his local men's basketball league)....

Sign up for one of the higher-skill leagues. That's what I expect them to do.

Lincoln city rec sports have several divisions in most sports for various skill levels. We usually played up a level. You earn nothing by beating a bunch of guys you know you're better than, and you learn how to play better by playing tougher competition.

We lost a lot and won a few, but the beer still tasted the same when the match was over.

I guess they don't have them around here.... Small town livin'....
Like Knapp just said, there are several divisions.

If a significant portion of your team plays baseball for money at any level, you should not be playing in the lowest coed softball league. I don't care about losing because unlike some people, I don't value my self-worth based on the outcome of a city rec sports game, but at some point it simply becomes counterproductive and a waste of everyone's time.

Then get better.

What do they always say about piling it on..?

Its your job to stop them?

It's all perspective, and I've seen it from both sides...

Does winning kick a$$, absolutely and subsequently losing sucks. I was on a unit level basketball team in the army, and we got killed on a regular basis. Things got a little chippy in the beginning till we realized we're just doing it for fun and to drink beer after. We started talking crazy amounts of sh*t to other teams, about why aren't they beating us worse, and if they're not up by a certain amount of points, how much they suck...

I hate that I can't stop laughing at one of my best friend's comments in regards to Farrah's sex tape. He actually took her to senior prom. Dear Christ!!!!!!!!! I'm still laughing.
