I think being outscored by Wiscy by an average of 22.33 points per game is beyond embarrassing.

I think it's pretty surprising Sparty is losing their best players on both sides of the ball this year, yet Vegas still picks them to be the Legends champs, and that this is more an indictment against our offense than an endorsement of their prowess.

I think it's pretty sad that, after two years in the Big Ten, we're basically the same team as Northwestern.

I think we're about where I thought we'd be against Minny, Michigan and Iowa.

I think we're pretty lucky to have had Ohio State at home, with Fickell as their head coach, for one of those years.

These are probably some of Northwestern's best years, while they have been slightly above average for Nebraska. It wouldn't surprise me to see the lines for "performance" for both teams to diverge at some point in the very near future. So yeah, 2 years into the B1G we're basically the same team as Northwestern, but these are some of their better years, and I think we're trending upward.

It is absolutely ridiculous that Wisconsin has obliterated us in the two games we've lost to them. They had a formula for winning, and winning big against Nebraska if the circumstances were right.

Kanpple these same people chose MSU to possibly win it last year as well and we see where they ended up. Just have to take it all with a grain of salt as these people are giving their opinion (read guessing) to create an article.

I think it's interesting that the only B1G loss in Lincoln in these two years is to Northwestern in 2011.
The only loss in Lincoln the last two years was Northwestern. The only losses in Lincoln the last three years are Northwestern and Texas. 8 home games bodes well for us this year. We're 18-2 in the last 20 home games.

Neither loss was against a ranked opponent. :hmmph
And last year was the first year in Bo's tenure that the team didn't lose to an unranked opponent at home. So there's that.

The head to head shows where we have been as a team since joining the B1G. We beat the teams we should and we are average against the teams that are a toss up. It's about what should have been expected.

Allowing 48PPG/avg against Wisconsin is an embarrassment. I understand that average went up when we allowed 70 in the CCG, but it shows we aren't where we want to be, let alone need to be on either side of the ball.

Our offense couldn't keep the turnovers from happening, the special teams couldn't field a punt if their lives depended on it, our front 7 on defense were below average, and as a whole on defense, we couldn't force turnovers. These are our main issues, and has been since day one. We have had the secondary (minus Safety) to be dominant, that could have caused some turnovers if they weren't responsible for saving the DL and LB's asses in stopping the run. A coach on the opposing side would have to have been blind not to see our weakness. UCLA, Ohio State and Wisconsin (2nd time around) knew our weakness, which was speed and lack of tackling in the open field and took advantage of it. With UCLA exploiting us in this early in the year, I thought most coaches would use the advantage on attacking the outside, but that didn't happen for some reason.

very happy to see Brett pack up his things. i wonder if he wasn't just one of those coaches that had Pelini's number? Similar to how we seemed to struggle against Iowa State towards the end of our B12 time. Couldn't really explain it, but you could always count on it being a tough game. Ohio State/Illinois seems to play out like that quite frequently (purdue as well I think).

So you would rather a coach leave then have our coach try to figure out the best way to beat him? Were you around for Osborne-Switzer? Osborne-Bowden?

If it came to it, I would love to have seen Pelini beat Bielema (which he did by the way). But on the same token, I'm not unhappy to see him ship off to Arkansas.
