Well, I just moved to CO, and my company was putting me up in a hotel until I found a place to buy. I only have till the end of May before I'm out on my own and I haven't found a place to buy yet. I've called every apartment place in town looking for short term rentals and they're all crazy expensive. I could live with my grandma's brother and his wife for a while but I don't really want to put out an octogenerian couple. I also have a high school friend that lives here, but she's married and has a kid with another on the way, so I'm not real comfortable staying there. Just sh**ty timing, which is my M.O.

Tell your new company you're having problems finding a place. And ask them for more time in the hotel. I did that once, and the company I hired on with gave me a couple more weeks.

And that's the thing, it doesn't sound like they want to extend my stay. I put an offer in on a place over the weekend and thought that they might extend my stay given that I'd just be waiting for paper work, but the guy declined my offer because he thinks he has something special (he doesn't).

Idk. I'm going to look at another place here in about an hour, so we'll see. It looks really nice online, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Sometimes you can find a smaller roach motel that gives fairly good rates. Stayed in one 30 minutes north of Dallas for about $50/week. Stayed for 3 weeks incident free.
Ps- this fee didn't include maid service. I believe that was an extra $25 I think. This was about 4 years ago too so. Also I was literally one of 4 people staying at this place. It wasn't dirty, very clean looking, but looked like a hotel straight out of a Tarentino movie.

Yeah, I'm looking for stuff like that. The place I just went to look at was crap. It had new wood floors and new windows, but there was water damage upstairs and it had real dank, musty smell. Plus the rooms were all f'ing choppy.

Supposed to be getting set up to look at two more on Thursday, since I can't go tomorrow since I'll be out of town, FOR WORK! f#*k, f#*k, f#*k :lol:

Or you might be able to sublet a student apartment for the summer. If you can find a student who's keeping his place b/c he doesn't want to move all his stuff out, then back again in three months. Just a thought.

I was actually looking at that on Craigslist. Might make some calls/texts tomorrow.

I don't hate that my realtor is working his a$$ off for me though. A new place came on the market this afternoon and he made a bunch of calls and I'm going to go look at it right now! :)

 
So... that place was something. Lots of shiny new stuff in it: tile, carpet, paint, etc. Looks like the neighbor is a straight up hoarder though. Couldn't even see in his open windows because the junk was piled so high
