MLB Draft: How will it affect the Huskers

Looks like we fared about as well as we could have in the draft this year. Having Boldt on campus for 3 years will be a huge upgrade in talent and hopefully he can help get things going and we can see some more talent start to find their way to Lincoln.

JUCO catching commit Ryan Miller will be signing with the Padres. Was drafted in the 14th round, the No. 418 pick overall.

Miller would of been a good hold over until Jackson Reetz got here. I am super excited about Boldt though, that is an elite talent.

I wouldn't be surprised if Boldt started telling teams if he didn't go by a certain round that he'd be attending college. So teams didn't have to bother guessing about his sign ability.

Apparently, he had made it clear he wanted $2m or more, so his signability was pretty well dead after a handful of rounds (unless some team wanted to get taxed big-time by Bud Selig) with these newfangled slot value rule thingies.
