Derricott is the #1 JUCO LB and FAST! 3 for 2. His top five are Baylor, Kansas St, South Florida, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. However, Wisconsin is, far-and-away, the leader for Derricott. Chris Beatty has been recruiting Derricott since high school. Derricott has said he would love to commit to the Badgers, but being originally from Virginia, his family thinks Wisconsin is too far. I don't know that that bodes well for us, as we have seen numerous times that mama always wins the recruiting battle.

Really?! He told 247 that Wisconsin was still #1 about a week ago. What happened?

From the 247 board.

Evan confirmed that he is not a fit academically with Wisconsin and is no longer being recruited for Wisconsin. Attached is his most recent update with Dericott. Bottom blurb of the original post.

So, Wisconsin is still at the top of his list, but Derricott is ineligible at Wisconsin based on grades. Where does that put him with Nebraska?

I have no idea.

Someone on the 247 board thinks this could be a package deal of him and Tyreek Hill.

Not sure how the grades thing plays out for us.

According to 247 he doesn't have an offer as of now. Academics are playing a key role in this. The staff there asked around and they believe he has not been offered. They did evaluate him in the spring, but it sounds like he's going to have to get his grades in order to get an offer.

He probably waited too long to offer him, but we are stacked at LB.
Thought Nate Clouse said on one of the 1620 shows a few days back that there was some miscommunication and NU actually hadn't offered yet, but showing a lot of interest... may be wrong though

You're prob right, it didn't make much sense as to why we offered him. Especially with all the young talent in waiting, unless they feel he could've been a real difference maker.
