Has Bo had a pissed off post-practice presser yet?

I mentioned in another thread how bad Stafford's tackling was last season. We really haven't had a good safety since O'Hanlon left. Good safeties can limit plays to a "good gain" instead of a TD.
Correct

ALSO Stafford was one of the WORST safetys Ive ever seen at taking angles- awful

Fast but poor angles- doesnt help at all from the safety position
How Stafford got drafted still boggles my mind to this day

I think the Green move to safety was more of a mental move. I think the coaches are seeing that if we're rather stacked at corner-which we are-that we could really use the brains of an experienced veteran the likes of Green over at Safety. Now the word from Bo out of camp is that the safeties are really performing well. We've got Gerry already flirting with the LB positions. Becuase of this-with or without Green-I'm bettin that playing time for Green at safety never actually materializes.

I don't see Green as a viable option at safety. I feel he has a ton to do in terms of ball skills.
I'm with you on this one. I just don't think Green is all that athletic honestly - at least not in comparison to our other DBs. He did a good job for the past 2 years filling a need on our defense, but now we have probably 5 CBs who are better and more athletic than him.

O'Hanlon's bust against Virginia Tech, anybody?
Being nit-picky, but after the game Carl said it wasn't Matty who made the mistake.
Yeah, and the funny part about that, related to the thread topic, is that when Bo was asked about it in the post-game presser he was very pissy about it and just said something like: "You saw it. We all saw it." There was no other way to take that other than "Yeah, it was obvious it was Matt's fault, and I'm not going to talk about it." In reality it was more complex than that and the writer even gave Bo a chance to explain, but he just chose to snap back instead. Not sure he's really changed all that much in 4 years.

I think Green has been our best DB the last 2 years. He has been the one that has stayed his position while Bo switched out the other one every other game.

Gerry is the starter in the Dime package. As you can see from last night they're also looking at him in other places. But I don't think thats going to be something we see with regularity. The other day he was described as having a "Ronnie Lott" mentality.

The first presser was moved because UNL asked media not to bring up some topics at fan day. Dirk of course cut in lines, jammed mics in peoples faces and asked the questions about Brown and Suttles anyway. After that they are wanting to control what practice info gets out in the media. Doing it at night prevents injury info from leaking out fast should it occur. Limiting the players and coaches also controls what topics might be discussed.

As far as I'm concerned the biggest issue we are facing is if we end up with a good FS. If we get that accomplished on D I'm not worried about much else at the moment.
Wow, there's Dirk for you. I actually was beginning to enjoy some of his articles periodically during the offseason, and now within the last month he's gone back to the self absorbed douchebag he's always been, and his articles suck. Football season turns him into something.

Every football team is uniquely different

Coaches will use different approaches at different parts of the season to try and get the most out of their players

Sometimes getting a little "pissy" works

It cant be an every day thing, it loses its effectiveness

MOST ot the time- when you think you've had a really good week of practice- the results show on the field

MOST games are won during the off-season and practices leading up to the game

They need to give FS to Cjax and be done with it. Enough messing around. He needs to be on the field just as bad as Gerry. Him and Gerry running around back there with our LBers. Good lord that's some speed and athleticism.
