Did anybody else notice or wonder what Pelini was saying to Papuchis as the game was ending. Bo was walking towards midfield with John next to him. A look of disgust by Bo and a few words, John stopped and looked deflated and upset and Bo just kept walking.

I did see that conversation. JP just stopped talking and started looking at the ground then walked the other way. No clue what was said but it did seem like Bo wasn't being nice to him.

 
I really think Bo's success or failure at Nebraska is going to hinge on him demoting/firing JP and hiring a quality, qualified person to run the defense. That also entails casting aside his own pride in terms of letting someone else have a major role in running the defense as well.

 
I think it was more of a look of befuddlement by JP because of the poor performance by the defense. It seemed to me to be kind of a "I don't understand what happened, but that was bad" type of expression.

If you cant shut down an FCS team no matter what their ranking then there are huge problems. It ridiculous to have to watch ESPN Gameday and have one of the guest's pick SDSU to beat NU. That is how far we have fallen as a program. Time to wake up.

Q, you have your head in the sand again...you really need to come to grips with the fact that, since somebody picked SDSU to beat Nebraska, that Nebraska sucks.

No kiddin. If you really believe that whoever it was legitimately picked SDSU to beat Nebraska because they really believed that it could legitmately happen, you have some serious issues and need to take a chill pill or somethin.

 
Just trying to read tea leaves here, but we might (hopefully) be seeing Bo push JP aside and take over the show on defense.

Bo after the game:

I work in the business of getting it fixed and I take it as a challenge right now, to get this thing fixed. We’ll find the right combination and we’ll find a way. I’ve always been able to do that and I feel confident we’ll be able to do it. I’ll get this fixed. Trust me there.

Granted, there's a couple of "we's" in there, but that sounds like Pelini is taking personal ownership of the defense going forward. Add in this from the OWH today:

Now, he and Pelini have to rebuild the Blackshirts to resemble a flock of hawks. Since Papuchis may recruit some this week — NU's 2014 class is perilously thin on defensive commits right now — it may fall more on Pelini to fix than the lead protégé of his graduate school of coaching. And Pelini may ponder a defensive solution that's desperate, but doable.

I may be overreacting, but this kinda sounds like Pelini is sending JP off to the corner to play in the sandbox so he can get this thing fixed.

Whoever picked sdsu over nu is not an idiot whether it was legit or not. hell they looked like geniuses in the first quarter. And no im not putting words in your mouth, but the man does have a point.
