As far as the discussion on these penalties being called consistently throughout college football I find it interesting that as used to we all are with refs being inconsistent constantly through individual games, we still have folks who expect consistency on a national scale. Ha! Good luck with that.
So... when Stanley was ejected, you applauded and said, "Good call!" And when the Ole Miss dude wasn't ejected, you applauded and said, "Good call!" And when this tackle was made with the defender looking at the ground and leading with his helmet and there wasn't even a hint of a flag thrown, you applauded and said, "Good call!"
Because if you didn't b!^@h at all, then you should never b!^@h about any call, ever. Because you're used to inconsistency unlike us unwashed heathen you're trying to convince. Right?
Knapp, as much as I like you personally, you're getting this putting words in my mouth sh#t down to a science.
I applauded a Husker being thrown out of a game? When? Especially SJB, one of the standouts of this team? Nope sorry buddy, but your attempts to continue to ban me and label me a hater, while it may fly with others and get you plus one little brownie points from others, it won't just go without a response from me.
Ole Miss dude? What Ole Miss dude? I literally have no clue what you are talking about. I don't think I've watched ole miss play or made any comments on any ole miss play? So again, not sure where I applauded and said good call.
I've repeatedly said I don't like the way they are pussified football. Please take me back to the sixties and seventies, hell even the eighties when guys used to play their asses off and literally try to hurt people. I love it. It's part of the game. I hate the constant flags flying in this game. I simply said that according to the rules, the SJB hit was illegal. The rule also states that these hits result in an ejection. I didn't make the f'ing rule bud, and I would take it off the books if I could.
Incinsistency in officiating? Damn right I'm used to it, aren't you? I'm not surprised at all that they miss some calls. Like I said above, I think some of these calls are literally affected by purely how brutal they "look". Even if nothing illegal actually occurred. I would even go a step further and sometimes say crowd reaction sometimes influences these calls a bit. Inconsistency is rampant in this game at all levels and is to be expected with new rules. The newer the rule, the more open to interpretation it is. Until a standard is developed, I believe it will continue.
I'm done arguing with you about it. I hope to have a beer with you again at some point and continue the conversations we have in a polite friendly manner. I won't insult your intelligence because I know I would be wrong to do so, you are a smart guy. We just disagree. Why I'm not quite sure, but I'm fine with it.
