I see some comments in some of the threads/statuses about Nebraska going to get smoked by Georgia this year! You have to be kidding me right? I think Georgia fans would even laugh at this.

I'm not sure about laugh about it but our abortion of a defense and laughable special teams will definitely keep the game interesting and high scoring

I was warming up to the idea of playing Syracuse. Reliant Stadium is light years more fun than the Jags' dump. And Syracuse looks pretty cool, and we haven't played them since the 80s. And we can beat them to keep the nine wins streak alive.

But I have 22 days to come up with a reason to get into this game, so I'll try. Or alcohol.

That one is now questionable at best. We really couldn't tell you if our defense is as good as we think they are because our offense and special teams like to give the opponent the ball on our side of the 50. And if they're reallying feeling frisky they give it to you inside the 10.

Ahhh. Our issue is that our offense can usually move the ball decently but our defense LOVES to give up long drives. And pass defense? Lol, wtf is pass defense? And then there is the special teams. Lost to vandy alone on that and some phantom targeting calls.

Need further proof of our pass defense, well, just check out the auburn/georgia game.

In conference play (last 9 games), we rank 12th (34th overall games) in total yards allowed, 48th in rushing defense (62nd overall), 5th in passing defense (21st overall). Georgia with Gurley will be a true testament to our rush defense though, and possibly pass defense if we sit back and don't bring pressure.

Ahhh, my mistake, I just was lost in a world where our defense continues to amaze us in the new records they set. Anyway, Gurley is a beast but our OL has left a lot to be desire all year. The pass rush is there if you load up on our ginger right tackle John Theus. That's the guy who you'll see your ends routinely beat.

As for passing blitzing is best way to stop Georgia, you're right. Our QB, Hutson Mason, doesn't have what Murray did in the arm strength department but he's a 4th year Junior and has been in the system a while. What he lacks in arm strength he makes up for in intelligence and quick throws. You won't see the Dawgs launching many bombs but with the WRs who aren't down to injury yet, Conley and Bennett primarily, you'll see a good many quick passes and comeback routes and they aren't half bad at that.

And I hope so. That said, UGA has only had 5 ints all year I believe. And two came against Georgia Tech and those boys are just bad at football
